Single-storey rear extension creating a games room and utility area
The homeowners of this property in Upton, near Pontefract, wanted to create more usable space without taking anything away from the rooms they already had.
Enhanced Building Management designed and built a single-storey rear extension providing a dedicated games room alongside a practical utility area – two new spaces that could make a genuine difference to how the home was used day to day.
The project was managed from the initial building plans through the required approvals and Building Control, before progressing into the complete construction. The finished extension combines matching brickwork, a pitched tiled roof, rooflights and glazed French doors to create a bright new space that feels connected to both the existing house and garden.

From Plans to Construction
Enhanced Building Management produced the plans for the extension and worked through the required approvals before construction started.
The project was completed under Permitted Development, with Building Control dealt with as part of the build.
This meant the homeowners had one company handling the project from the initial design through to construction.
During the Build
The extension was built onto the rear of the existing house, with new brickwork, a pitched roof, rooflights, windows and French doors.
Inside, the project then moved through the services, plastering and finishing stages.

The Finished Extension
The finished extension adds two useful new spaces without taking away from the existing rooms in the house.
The games room is bright and opens directly onto the garden, while the utility area provides practical extra space for everyday use.
The matching brickwork and pitched roof also help the extension sit naturally with the original property.
